Stay Connected

Stay Connected

Every defensive training drill talks of ‘staying connected‘ ‘no dog legs’, and ‘no weak links’.  Rugby clubs and their communities up and down the land are keeping men connected socially, mentally, physically and morally.

Emphasis should be given to ‘staying’ connected! For men who moved away from the rugby community it can be difficult to make new friends and create the shared experiences of youth.

Rugby clubs can become focused on the elements of the club which make up the 1st XV. However rugby is much bigger than a 1st XV with plenty of opportunities to stay connected in the spectating, social rugby, running, officiating, coaching and enjoyment of the game. There really is something for everyone, whether young or old, new to rugby or returning, male or female.
